What is the value of Membership?

Perhaps it would be best to address the value of membership by answering the question, what is the “call” of membership. While there are unique and specific benefits of membership, there is only one “call” to becoming a Kingdom Companies member, the call to seek God first.

In our dualistic society, it is difficult enough to inculcate our everyday lives with the spiritual reality that as followers of Christ, we are different, not better, not elite, but certainly different. In the business world that dichotomy is even greater, creating more tension between the call of Christ to follow Him and the demands of modern day materialism and capitalism, to follow them.

Membership in Kingdom Companies is first and foremost a commitment to end the double life, to commit to expecting, allowing, looking for and following Christ as we work. He is there. We just need to seek Him and He will be found. Membership is a commitment to seek personally and reveal to others. Each of us will reveal in our own unique, God gifted way, directed by His Spirit so there need be no anxiety as to how we do it. It is quite simple. We follow Him and allow others to see Him in us, by the way we work: by the words we use; by the way we deal with others; by our every action.

While the value of membership is eternal, storing up treasures in heaven where rust or moth do not destroy, it is also practical and powerful for leading a company, a division or an office, for leading people by following Christ. Employee and leadership development and powerful assessment tools are some of the “practical” aspects of membership; so are fellowship and wise counsel and a place to connect with others who have made the decision to travel the Kingdom path.

Ultimately, members will get out of the ministry what they put into it. As you give of your time and talent, you will receive; as you seek you will find and as you knock the door will be opened. But rather than give to the ministry, we want your company and your career to be your platform for ministry. The real value will be found through the lives of the employees, customers, suppliers and communities who are impacted in a positive way through your Kingdom Company or your career.
