Certified Christian Business Consultant (Certified CBC)

Certified CBC professionals will possess many unique skills and gifts, come from a myriad of experiences and have served in many different positions of leadership in companies, but they will all have three things in common:

  • A desire to create a successful consulting business that will let them integrate their faith and their career in the most meaningful way
  • A call from God to become a “transforming agent” for the movement of God in the marketplace
  • A commitment to represent the wisdom of God as they serve their clients and their clients most valuable asset, their human resource.

The time has come for Christian business owners to transform their companies, transform the lives of those who work for them and be the light of God in the marketplace. Kingdom Companies is a non-profit ministry committed to be a valuable part of the movement of God in the marketplace as we help our member companies make that transformation.

Too often, when we turn to others outside the organization for help, the help we get from outside counsel is neither Godly nor wise, but simply man’s wisdom packaged in an “acceptable” package. The Certified CBC program recruits, develops, supports and sponsors highly competent business professionals committed to representing the wisdom of God in the marketplace as they build and operate a successful consultancy.

Using tools and processes that have been developed and successfully applied in hundreds of companies over the past decade, the Certified CBC will build a successful private consulting practice that blesses those served and those who serve.

For those interested in becoming a CCBC, it is important for you to understand the important commitment you will be making to be wise, godly counsel to Christian Business leaders. This is a sacred trust, one that comes with a great deal of responsibility and authority. The depth of your counsel will be only as good as the depth of your relationship with Christ. But we are not Christian counselors or pastors; we are business people, who have experienced the truth of God in our business lives and who are committed to provide transforming tools and processes to our clients.

First, you are an independent Christian business owner; or rather you will be, once you are certified. This is a way for a talented, experience and committed Christian to build a successful practice, actually living a life of integrated purpose. It is ministry in the marketplace through your own small business.

There are more small and medium sized businesses owned and operated by Christians today than ever before and the number is growing. Kingdom Companies, a non-profit organization was formed to help them apply God’s principles to operating a successful business so the business itself can flourish, positively impact its customers, employees and community while providing a financially secure future. Operating a Kingdom Company is not easy and most small business owners need affordable and competent help to do it well. That is what the Certified CBC provides.

What is required?

The CCBC Application and Interview process has been designed to assess your ability to succeed in this venture. Past experiences, communication effectiveness, leadership, personal motivation and your ability to live by covenantal principles are critical deciding factors in who should enroll in the program. The following people will likely find the program very attractive:

  • People with at least ten years work experience with at least five of those working in a supervisory, management or leadership capacity
  • People who have a desire to build their own business but are not interested in investing thousands of dollars into franchising or “get rich” quick schemes. Building a business is hard work, opportunity and prayer meeting at a point in time. Building a Kingdom Company requires a Kingdom perspective.
  • People who want to be in business for themselves but not by themselves
    • Downsized
    • Semi-retired
    • Retired
    • Underemployed
    • Dissatisfied with your career
  • Christians who want to integrate their faith into their work. This is one of the most rewarding careers you could ever have. You impact people in a profound and powerful way.
  • People who are self motivated, willing to learn and willing to follow a proven plan for success. The plan works if you will work the plan.
  • People who will do what is in the best interest of the client, including saying no, on behalf of God. That is who the Certified CBC represents and it should be a humbling and freeing experience to know that you can and will be used.
  • People who are willing to live by the principles of Unconditional Excellence in their own lives, demonstrating the power and effectiveness of the tools. If we do not practice these principles, how can we teach them to others?

The Certification Program

The Certified CBC candidate will undergo two three day training sessions over a thirty day period. Each session begins on Thursday morning and ends on Saturday afternoon with intense assignments and practical application assignments between sessions. Certification in the use of the Kingdom Companies Transformation Engagement process and the Unconditional excellence employee development program prepares the candidate to provide the necessary consulting and training tools for their future clients.

Additionally, the Certified CBC Campaigner program is a proven method for building a client base. Based on the successful Kingdom Practice program we provide for Christian Financial Planners, our Campaigner program “fast tracks” your client acquisition strategy.

Consulting Practice Background

Individual employee assessment, development and coaching is a multi-billion dollar industry yet the majority of the programs that are offered tend to be more “entertaining” than they are transformational. The tools and processes used by the Certified CBC  are unique in the fact that they align with godly principles. They are also proven, having helping hundreds of Christian led businesses maximize their employee potential. Those successful clients become your testimonials too. 

One of our ministry founders and your instructor for the Certification program, Alan Ross, spent the past twenty years in turn-around and strategic consulting engagements. He developed these powerful tools for use in and during those transformations. He has published two books, Beyond World Class with Dearborn in 2001 and Unconditional Excellence with Adams media in 2003. His third book, The Kingdom Path was published in September 2006 and Unconditional Employee Excellence is slated for Early 2007.

As the CEO and founder of ReNew Refinishing Systems and Corporate Development Institute, Alan understands firsthand the need for employees to “buy in” to the culture of a Kingdom Company transformation, with every employee displaying excellence, integrity, opportunity and personal commitment.

Program Costs and Logistics

Certification Program is $3,750 per session for two sessions. This cost includes all the training materials, DVD kits and support material you will need for your practice. In the event you elect to drop from the program after the first session, you will receive a refund of $1,900 with the remaining $1,850 used to cover the costs of your participation. If it is the opinion of the Certification team that it would be in your best interest to drop from the program for any reason, you will receive a $3,000 refund with the balance used to cover your costs. In either case you will not be obligated for any additional fees for session two.

  • Sessions are held at Simpsonwood Retreat Center in North Atlanta.
  • Travel and accommodations are your responsibility.
  • Simpsonwood includes meals in their room rates and it is both reasonable and beautiful. The center rests on hundreds of acres along the Chattahoochee River with numerous walking trails.
  • Each session begins Thursday morning and ends on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
  • These are intense work sessions, including evening assignments as you build your business plan and master the material, so we suggest you limit your time in Atlanta to this program and come prepared to learn, to practice and to plan. 
  • As a Certified CBC you will automatically become a member of Kingdom Companies ministry and will be featured on the KC web site with a complete bio, picture and personal testimony
  • Annual Certification and Conference Fee of $1,250 to maintain certification and support the Kingdom Companies ministry

Program Costs and Logistics

To maintain your certification we will provide a Kingdom Companies Client review system that must meet our standards of excellence. Failure to meet these standards will be addressed with remediation in the event we believe additional training would be helpful or necessary. For moral failures or actions that would reflect negatively on the ministry, we will attempt to bring about restoration however there must be a true desire to address the issue on behalf of the Certified CBC.
Attendance at the annual two day Certification Conference will be required to maintain certification. New tools, programs, assessments or processes will be provided either during this annual Conference or at specially designated times at no additional cost to the Certified CBC, other than the annual $1,500 Certification Fee.
